As a member of the Bailgate Rotary Club, both he and Elaine had an active social circle and were involved in charity work. In 1992 he formed an unlikely musical trio dubbed the “Bailgate Buskers”, entertaining more than 400 guests at the Bailgate Rotary Club’s 10th Annual charity gala at Lincoln Theatre Royal.
